Checkpoint402 · Legal
Terms of Service
Last updated: October 13, 2026
These terms apply whenever you, or software acting for you such as an AI agent, request data from Checkpoint402 at checkpoint402.com or api.checkpoint402.com. By sending a request or a payment, you agree to them.
1. What we provide
Checkpoint402 sells individual answers built from public data: blockchain transaction explanations, DeFi yield listings, new-token safety scores, summaries of SEC 8-K filings, and screening against the US Treasury OFAC sanctions list. Each answer is priced per request and paid in USDC on the Base network using the x402 payment standard.
2. Information only, not advice
Everything we return is general information. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset.
Sanctions screening is not a compliance determination. Name matches are approximate and need human review, and a “no match” result does not guarantee that a person, company or wallet is not sanctioned. If you have legal screening obligations, use our results only as one input and follow your own compliance process.
3. Accuracy and sources
We build answers from third-party sources, including the SEC, the US Treasury, DefiLlama, GoPlus, GeckoTerminal and public blockchains. Those sources can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and some summaries are written by AI and can contain mistakes. Always check the original source, which we link where possible, before relying on a result.
4. Payments
The price is shown before you pay. You are only charged when an answer is delivered successfully: if your request is invalid or a source is unavailable, the payment is not taken. Completed payments are final and are not refunded, because each answer is delivered instantly. You are responsible for your own wallet, network fees and taxes.
5. Who may not use the service
You may not use Checkpoint402 if you, or anyone you act for, appear on a US sanctions list or are located in a comprehensively sanctioned country or region. We automatically refuse payments from wallets on the OFAC sanctions list and may refuse any other payment or request. You may not use the service for anything illegal, or to overload, attack or copy it at scale.
6. No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability.
7. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Checkpoint402 is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including trading losses or decisions made using our data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the request the claim relates to.
8. Changes
We may change these terms, the services or prices. The version on this page applies to each request at the time it is made.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable US federal law.
